Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms before using the server or this website.

⚠ Independent & not affiliated with Moses Brown School

This website and the “Moses Brown Minecraft Server” (together, the “Server”) are an independent, student-run project. The Server is not operated, sponsored, endorsed by, or affiliated with Moses Brown School (the “School”). The School has no involvement in the Server and is not responsible for it or anything on it.

Effective date: August 6, 2026. By accessing this website or joining the Server, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Server.

1. No impersonation of the School

We do not claim to be, represent, or act on behalf of the School. The name “Moses Brown” is used only descriptively — to indicate the student community the Server is built for — and not to suggest that the School runs, approves, or is connected to the Server in any way. We do not use the School’s official logos, seals, athletic marks, wordmarks, or other branding, and we make no claim of ownership over them. All such names and marks remain the property of their respective owners, and any reference to them is for identification only. Every page of this site carries a clear statement that the Server is independent and unaffiliated.

2. Non-commercial project

This is a free, non-commercial, student-run hobby project. We do not charge for access, sell goods or services, run advertising, accept sponsorship, solicit donations, or make any money from the Server, this website, or the domain. Nothing here competes with the School or is offered for commercial gain.

3. Right to use this domain

The operator registered the domain mosesbrownserver.net in good faith and lawfully holds the registration. It was registered to host a free Minecraft server for fellow students — not to impersonate the School, not to divert or mislead anyone looking for the School, not to tarnish anyone’s reputation, and not for resale. The operator has never offered the domain for sale, rent, or transfer to the School or to anyone else, and has no intention of doing so. Registering a domain that contains a descriptive name does not, by itself, create any affiliation with — or transfer any rights belonging to — the School.

4. Player conduct & content

You agree to follow the server rules (be respectful, no cheating, keep chat appropriate, and so on). Anything players type, build, or share is created by those players, not by the operator. We do not pre-screen player content and are not responsible for it, but we will act on reports: we may remove content and suspend or permanently ban any account at our sole discretion, with or without notice. We are under no obligation to keep the Server running and may change or shut it down at any time. You use the Server at your own risk.

5. Your information, emails & privacy

To verify players we collect only what verification needs: a school email address and a Minecraft username. We use this to operate the Server, keep the community verified, and send the occasional server announcement (described below). We do not sell, rent, or share it, we do not publish players’ email addresses, and we do not use it for advertising. You may request deletion of your information at any time by emailing the operator, and we will delete it promptly.

Server announcement emails. When you verify, your email address is added to our announcement list, and you may receive occasional emails about the Server — things like updates, events, scheduled downtime, or rule changes. These are infrequent, are only ever about the Server, and are sent through a third-party email provider (Resend) that delivers them on our behalf. Every announcement includes an unsubscribe link — you can opt out at any time and we honor opt-outs promptly. Opting out stops these announcements but not the verification email you need in order to sign in.

6. No warranty & limitation of liability

The Server and website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage — including lost game progress, builds, items, or data — arising from your use of the Server or this website. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB / Microsoft; this project is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by Mojang or Microsoft.

7. Responsibility for your own use

You are responsible for how you use the Server. If your actions — such as breaking these Terms or the server rules, or misusing someone else’s account or content — cause a claim against the operator, you agree to be responsible for that claim to the extent the law allows.

8. Complaints, takedowns & disputes

If you have any concern about the Server, this website, or the domain — including any trademark, privacy, or affiliation concern — please contact the operator directly at mcaranci07@gmail.com. We take good-faith concerns seriously and aim to respond promptly. If any content on this site is shown to infringe someone’s rights, we will remove it voluntarily — no legal process needed. Please raise issues with the operator by email first; please do not contact Moses Brown School about the Server, as the School does not run it and cannot help.

If a concern about the domain name cannot be resolved with us directly, it may be pursued through the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP), the process established by ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) and administered by ICANN-approved providers such as WIPO. That process — not contacting the operator’s school, family, or internet provider — is the proper venue for a formal domain dispute.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Server or website after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. If part of these terms doesn’t apply

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a rule right away doesn’t mean we give up the right to enforce it later.
